This Obsidian Arrowhead necklace is a Roadkill Gems original design. Handmade with Sterling silver, all the metal, including chain is 925 sterling, genuine Obsidian and the Turquoise is natural Hachita Turquoise. This gorgeous piece was hand sawed, soldered, oxidized, polished, set and designed by me, Lizzi Willis.

Hachita Turquoise comes from New Mexico, a mine from prehistoric times. First discovered in the 1880s and is some of the hardest turquoise around, most of it had to be blasted out. The prehistoric mine closed in the 1920s. Today you'll see a bit of Hachita on the market but mostly in vintage jewelry. This rare gorgeous stone is mostly green with light to dark brown matrix often forming a spider web but also comes in a light blue.
