Hachita Turquoise comes from New Mexico, a mine from prehistoric times. First discovered in the 1880s and is some of the hardest turquoise around, most of it had to be blasted out. The prehistoric mine closed in the 1920s. Today you'll see a bit of Hachita on the market but mostly in vintage jewelry. This rare gorgeous stone is mostly green with light to dark brown matrix often forming a spider web but also comes in a light blue.
